Akira's armature ship: the AI can transfer into it, with a processing node fitted.

The Acturos is a specialist Free Merchant built as an AI armature for Akira Aurius, the Fleet Intelligence officer at the head of ELINT. It has no conventional bridge. Servers, processing units, drones that slot into the walls, a robotics workshop and an armature all take precedence over its six bunks, and Akira's core can transfer between the ship and their other bodies without help. It was commissioned in fortnight 17 of 3200, partly for ELINT, though Akira stayed with the Macaria all the same.

In service

In fortnight 20 of 3200 Akira and Jason Murphy examined the buoy of an unbraked AI aboard, Jason using his precognition as Akira was paranoid about any long-term effects. The buoy had been researching how to send objects into drill space without a spike drive, and its data pointed to a site on Kos III and to materials labs on Kos. ‹acturos#1019302906169667724›

The Acturos then carried the Veremouth team from Kos to Calypso, drilling straight there with an AI boost to its calculations and some careful course trimming, and it later took part in the blind-jump exploration missions. ‹acturos#1027199838540021760›

On 11/8/3201 it left the Macaria's bubble dock with the Sulura tucked into its own warp bubble, bound for Sarus, so it was away when Calypso fell. Akira did not take the ruin of Calypso well and joined the 5th Fleet at Kos afterwards. ‹acturos#1055896499520802846› ‹acturos#1073971978899292180›
